Rengaya has been serving YAKINIKU in North Sydney since 1993, making it one of Australia’s pioneering Japanese barbeque restaurants. Now, that tradition is set to continue at its new digs on Miller Street – just a short stroll from the original location – in a much more modern, striking setting. The new fit-out features bar-counter seats around an open kitchen, red booth seating divided by Japanese-style timber panelling and a hard-to-miss chandelier. There’s also a 20-seat private dining room. We use only the finest ingredients such as Japanese Black Cattle made in Australia for beef, Sashimi and Seafood fresh from the sea. Green Shiso Omakase Restaurant has moved to the heart of the city, now located at 6 Loftus St, Quay Quarter Lane.Our Chef Simon brings over 15 years of experience in Japanese cuisine.     I thoroughly enjoyed my evening here. Excellent staff, food and wine. I have long been influenced by Alexander Lobrano to exclude company and environment when considering a meal. My guests were from Auckland and like my Late WIfe food driven, their appreciation and enjoyment complemented mine. As a footnote I am a retired Professor from RPAH and Sydney University - certainly NOT trained in the dark arts of food and dining commentary.

    We return here each year for my daughter's birthday and we love it! The service, food, drinks remain excellent year after year. I was glad I remembered to ask for the dishes to be staggered as they came out. In previous years we were served a little too quickly. We want the night to last.
