Populairste Nepalese restaurants in Berkeley, San Francisco Bay Area

I was invited here by a friend. I’ve eaten at a lot of mediocre Nepalese places in the Bay Area and had low expectations. Basecamp blew me away. The food was overall delicious- fresh and interesting- and the service was genuinely friendly and on point. The decor is fun, dish ware festive and it was boisterous and full on a Saturday night at 8p. The samosa were solid- hot and not oily and came with a delicious fresh green sauce, a (Nepalese crepe) was very interesting but like a flat omlete, we got the veggie Momos on the recommendation of my friend who said they were the best ones, the shrimp chow mein was unexpected with firm noodles, lots of large shrimp and a dry spice, and lastly the Cashew Curry with chicken. The curry was outstanding- creamy, flavorful and unique. We mopped it up with the Tumeric Rice. If you’ve had some mediocre Nepalese dining experiences, I recommend you fix that with a meal at Basecamp.

What a feast! Juicy chilly momos, tandoori grilled chicken lunch platter, chicken korma thali , and a thick, sweet mango lassi to wash it all down. Paired with garlic naan, it was an incredible meal from start to finish. Can't wait to return!"

Dancing Yak is one of our favorite restaurants, and it's on our regular rotation. The food is soooooo good, and they serve delicious cocktails too. Some favorites from the menu are: Kale Chaat, Bindi Tarkari (the BEST okra I have had in my life) and the Butter Chicken.

Tipsy Yeti is a Nepali restaurant that also has some American items on the menu. We have been a few times. The Nepali curries are delicious, as are the momos. The plantain pizza is a white pizza that is very good. Whoever created the cocktails is brilliant. There's a quiet enclosed patio at the back where you can bring your dogs.

Good Nepali/Indian food. Helpful and friendly service.
