Inspired by the layered cultures of Sri Lanka and England, Colombo House, formerly known as Colombo 16, presents a modern table of Sri Lanka at Marine Court — the Grade II–listed Art Deco landmark overlooking St Leonards-on-Sea.

By night, the menu focuses on contemporary dinners, with curries, short eats, and desserts designed for sharing. On Sundays, Colombo House opens for brunch and lunch, offering relaxed sharing platters alongside Sri Lankan favourites.

Our cooking is rooted in family recipes, reimagined through a modern, ingredient-led approach — sourcing locally while importing key produce weekly from Sri Lanka.

The drinks list champions locally sourced coffee, tea, soft drinks, craft beers, ciders, and artisanal spirits. Our wine list has been carefully curated to complement the bold, nuanced flavours of the food, in collaboration with local wine merchants Artis Vin, Ridge & Bard of Hastings.

We make British food with a classic or modern slant. We source our ingredients from the local fields, woodlands and waters. Everything is cooked on the premises, including the bread and the icecreams.
The Good Food Guide (2023) says: "A fittingly quaint old building, complete with original features, given a suave modern twist via grey panelling and contemporary furniture. Chef-proprietor Martin Peacock has built his menu on classical French traditions and impeccable sourcing and there’s real creativity and originality on show here. The international wine list offers a decent but not overlong selection, with accessible pricing."

Vegetarian: we will always offer at least one starter and one main vegetarian choice. However, we cannot cater for vegans and if you have a life threatening food intolerance we (and our insurance company) are unable to take the booking.

Heel lekker gegeten at Landgate bistro! Vriendelijk ontvangst, gezellig verlichte ruimte (minder kil dan op de foto's), en alle gerechten waren heel lekker. grote porties (zeker vleesgerecht en kaas achteraf!) Wij genoten van een perfect advondje uit!

Set within the historical parish of Hartfield famous for A.A.Milne Winnie-the-Pooh books. The Gallipot Inn lies a stones throw from Ashdown Forest and has an excellent reputation for food & drink throughout the area.

Famous for our dishes including lambs' kidneys with red wine sauce, probably the best 'Smokie' (Poached haddock gratin) in Sussex or seared King scallops with crispy prosciutto & pesto.

During the summer months fresh fish is our speciality and moving into autumn local game will be showing on the special board.

Our wild terraced garden in summer is one of the best you'll find in Sussex and in the colder months we have roaring log fires to keep you warm and cosy.

Our menu is 95% gluten free and is adaptable to any food allergens or intolerances.
