Sitting on the corner of Hilton and Tariff street in Manchester’s lively Northern Quarter, The Pen and Pencil takes its name and inspiration from the infamous mid-20th Century bar on East 45th Street in New York.Open seven days a week from 10am until late, the restaurant and bar not only offers a variety of beverages including cocktails, beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks, but focuses on its strong day time offering with great breakfast, brunch and lunch options as well as quality coffee and freshly blended smoothies.The Pencil and Pencil has an array of events throughout the month with a resident DJ to get the party started every weekend, a weekly quiz night on a Tuesday, and its sell-out Bottomless Brunches! It also offers a private room for corporate event and celebrations.. Unfortunately, we are unable o serve guests with Coeliacs due to the risk of cross contamination.

    Visited Lock 84 today for some breakfast and I have nothing but positive things to say! I was sat by the window which was a perfect start to the day with the canal being right outside, providing a very calming atmosphere. The staff were also amazing! Special mention to Ethan and Oscar who were super friendly and made sure I got everything I needed. The food was superb, with unlimited refills of coffees and juices. Would 100% recommend to friends and family and will definitely be returning! Thank you for your lovely service.

    The Pen & Pencil holds a special place in our hearts as it’s where my partner and I had our very first date almost 2½ years ago. Since then, it’s become one of our favourite places, especially for our Monday brunches – the 50% off food is always a bonus! No matter what day or time we visit, the food and service never disappoint. The staff are always welcoming, the atmosphere is great, and the quality is consistently excellent. Thanks to the whole Pen & Pencil team for always making it such a lovely place to come back to. Keep up the amazing work! ❤️❤️
