Mushrooms are the heart of what we do at the Joel Palmer House. We have always endeavored to obtain seasonal and local ingredients and we use many locally produced greens, herbs, and vegetables, some of which come from our own culinary garden. We are frequently inspired by ingredients found in the cuisines of France, China, Thailand, Poland and India, so we call our cooking "freestyle." Our dishes pair well the celebrated wines of Oregon, especially Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay. Our extensive, Oregon-focused wine list has been awarded the Best of Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator. Of special note, The Joel Palmer House ranks as one of Oregon's finest historic homes and is on the National Register of Historic Places and the Oregon Historic Register. Built in 1857, the house is Dayton's oldest standing structure. When weather permits, guests can enjoy their dinner on our outdoor patio, soaking in the last rays of sunshine in the heart of Oregon Wine Country.

We have a beautiful view of the city, roof top garden & our own aquifer (fresh & pure). -We take reservations but they are not required. Walk-ins are warmly welcomed. If you request a table, it is not guaranteed but we always do our best to honor requests when possible. -If you are dining during the summer months and want to sit outside, we face west and cannot block the setting sun. So bring your hats, sunglasses & anything else needed for sunshine. -Please ensure that your entire party is here for your reservation.-Please limit your stay to no more than 1.5 hours.
Street Disco is a constantly evolving restaurant and natural wine bar by Rising Star Chef Kyle Christy and his team. Starting as a pop up and becoming an industry favorite all over Portland Street Disco finally opened their doors in the Fall of 2022 in the Foster-Powell neighborhood of Portland.Menu changes frequently, expect oysters, plenty of veggies, tinned fish, rotating meat dishes and plenty of things grilled over charcoal.
