Spread over the heritage-listed building’s walk-in bar, dining room and hidden private dining room, there's a lively space to suit every occasion, big and small.To eat, Palazzo Salato's menu of snacks, hand-rolled pasta and sustainably sourced proteins from some of Australia’s best farmers, is devised by Executive Chef Alex Major and Head Chef Matthew Goddard. While seasonally led, a few classics remain on the menu always, including the Palazzo ham with colatura hot sauce and focaccia; stracciatella with anchovies; mafaldine with spanner crab, sea blight, uni butter and chilli; and the agnolotti dal plin to name a few. Steersons returns to King Street Wharf completely reimagined. A new menu, a new wine list, a new executive chef and a dining room redesigned from the ground up, with the harbour and the open fire exactly where they have always been.The menu is built around the grill and the water it looks out on. Premium beef from four producers across New South Wales and Queensland, selected cut by cut for breed, region and flavour profile. Seafood sourced from Australian waters, from Spencer Gulf kingfish to Merimbula oysters. A wine list chosen to work with the food rather than simply accompany it.Lunch at Steersons is a different experience from dinner and worth the trip on its own terms. The lunch menu is concise, the harbour is at its best in the middle of the day and the room is quieter for it.     Can’t recommend this place enough, after being told by an Italian restaurant close by that we had to pay a deposit of $500 for a group booking I looked elsewhere and found roast republic. No deposit required for groups. The food was incredible and was so quick. Great value for money. They were so accommodating and super friendly, they even split the bill which I know a lot of places won’t with large groups. Atmosphere was beautiful. We will be returning :) Thank you for a great experience.
