Rustica offers guests rustic European cuisine. This restaurant prides itself on its fantastic relationships with local farmers and vendors. Whenever possible, the Rustica kitchen staff utilizes items that are locally grown or made to create unique and flavorful dishes. Rustica features dishes that have been inspired from countries across Europe such as Spain, Italy and France among many others. Rustica's entrées are divided between two sections: the first features pasta and grain dishes while the second is more traditional dinner plates. Under the pasta section Rustica serves up house-made ricotta gnocchi with seasonal toppings as well as a seafood spaghetti with shrimp, mussels, scallops, and spicy crumbs in an amatriciana sauce. Larger plates include grilled flank steak, New Zealand lamb shank, and airline chicken breast with sauteed spianch and creamy smashed potatoes.

Due to our high volume and traffic, we cannot hold tables for parties like a reservation system. We have a system called Priority Seating. This system secures a table within our restaurant, however, it does not guarantee an exact seat by time.     We had a great meal at Rustica. Sampled mussel appetizer, entrees were the salmon, seafood spaghetti and gnocchi, all were very good. Great drinks and the service was outstanding. Makayla, our server, was excellent but the staff seemed to help each other as needed to make sure everyone was taken care of. Dessert was fabulous we sampled the tiramisu and the white chocolate crème brûlée.

    Second visit to this establishment and it was even better than the excellent first visit. Unique preparations of fresh apps and entrees. Excellent cocktails, superior service, and a great vibe. I won't visit Kalamazoo without enjoying a meal at this restaurant.

    Cheddar biscuits are amazing! Social House is usually my go-to in downtown Kalamazoo, but I tried principle for the first time last night and it was AMAZING… I found a new favorite and will be going back asap! I wish they had a thirsty Thursday like WL social does though..

    This is the best restaurant and our new Kalamazoo favorite! Our server, Austin, was phenomenal. We felt right at home. The ambience was perfect for our anniversary and everyone was so sweet in remembering our special occasion with roses and chocolate covered strawberries on the house. We will definitely be returning in the near future!
