From the family that brought you Trattoria La Siciliana—a fixture of Berkeley’s Elmwood district for the past twenty years—Agrodolce is a sister restaurant located in the heart of Berkeley’s Gourmet Ghetto. Outstanding food and service. Friendly and attentive staff Only downside is tables too close together and noisy. They do this to accommodate as many diners as possible including us. Better a bit crowded than denied seating from lack of a table 🙂

The Branzino was fabulous as was the Pesto Pasta. I was excited about the 'fresh' sardine bucatini however somewhat disappointed that the sardine was mixed into a tomato sauce and that it didn't quite match the menu description I saw. I will definitely return to try other things on the menu that look exciting. We received excellent guidance with wine recommendations!!!

Wonderful meals, excellent selection, quality prepared. Only downside, if sitting outside you can converse; if sitting inside the sound is deafening, takes away from the experience and is exhausting. As winter and cold damp weather comes, sitting outside even with good heater will be less desirable so will return in Spring or when you get some much needed ceiling soundproofing

Lovely ambiance and excellent staff. Food felt a bit overdone (salty) but my son adored the ragu.

I loved all the food except the black ink pasta wasn’t my favorite The appetizers were terrific The bread is fresh ACME bread. The dipping dates is fantastic

The food is worth the small detractions. Noise a bit much for conversation. But that is why symphony halls are not lined with brick.

Disappointing. The caponata was however tasty. The pork with potatoes was awful. Big hunk of not bery flavorful meat on strange flavorless potatoes- just a big brown gunky mess. The little gem salad was ok. The cooked spinach just too garlicky and i Love garlic. The servers were nice but never came to our table. We will not return
