Gather in downtown Berkeley celebrates the abundance of Northern California with a seasonally inspired menu featuring organic, locally sourced produce, artisan pizzas, sustainable seafood, and humanely raised meats. With a thoughtful balance of meat and vegetarian dishes, craft cocktails, and locally produced sustainable wines, Gather offers something for every guest. Open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, with brunch served on weekends, it’s a welcoming destination for any occasion.

Located directly across from the UC Berkeley campus, Gather’s warm, inviting atmosphere features honey-hued reclaimed woods sourced from the surrounding area—a fitting reflection of the Gather name. Convenient parking is available beneath the restaurant, and with Zellerbach Hall and Berkeley Rep just minutes away, Gather is perfectly situated for a leisurely brunch, casual lunch, dinner, or a pre-show meal.

I had high hopes for this place because the facade looks modern and welcoming. The food was really good but we ordered an appetizer and it was so small that when my friend and I split it the thing was barely a bite. It would have been a better value if they at least gave you two of the crostini.

Great food, served family style. We ordered 3 smaller plates and three main courses for 8 people and it was perfect. The wine recommendation was outstanding. Great service.

Ambiance and service were great. So were most food orders. However, my fritter was dry, crumbly and nor very flavorful.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us! We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed the ambiance, service, and most of your dishes. However, we are sorry to hear that your fritter didn't meet expectations. We strive to have every item on the menu taste great, so your note about it being dry and lacking flavor has been passed along directly to our kitchen team so we can make the right adjustments. We appreciate your honest review and hope to welcome you back again soon for an all-around fantastic meal! Cheers!

First time dining, and the restaurant setting was beautiful, clean, modern and spacious. Staff was super friendly and Jordan? assigned to our table was top notch. Only (very) slight negative was a few dishes were off. Potatoes under seasoned, fired overdone and my Croissant sandwich a little too oily. But otherwise excellent and definitely a re-visit!

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback! We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful, spacious setting and received standout service from Jordan. We will be sure to pass along your kind words to Jordan and the team. They'll be delighted to know they made your first visit so memorable. We also really appreciate your honest notes on the food. Sharing those details about the potatoes, fries, and croissant sandwich helps our culinary team make the necessary tweaks to get everything just right. Thank you again for visiting, and we look forward to welcoming you back for an even better experience next time! Cheers!

Had an early dinner before our concert at the Greek. Was easy to get to, lots of available parking, and a walk midway. The staff were attentive, the owner mingled, and our faire was well thought out and executed. Great place to have dinner.
