Came to O-Ku to celebrate my birthday and had an incredible experience! The service was amazing and our waiter had great menu recommendations. Our favorites were the chef cold plates (sake usuzukiri and maguro tataki) and the signature nigiris. We can’t wait to come back and try more.

Authentic, elegant true omakase experience in Sarasota where for under $1000 ( for two) one can save thousands on flight and lodging costs in Japan. They call it kaiseki and it is indeed artistic and quality of food and ingredients can be felt. Accompanying sauces are heavenly. Multiple course meal prepared “ live” by two chefs and engaging impeccable service by the sommelier/ hostess. Surprisingly, even sakes I could enjoy. Food/fishes top shelf and quality can br felt right away. Only minuses ( and I have to find minuses) were - the background music a touch to loud , Taisho’s ( chef’s) comments muted by it. I was surprised with the absence of proper ending of the meal with tea . Menu changes monthly but I can afford in only a couple times a year!

This place is an absolute gem. I brought my husband here for dinner to celebrate his birthday and it was a perfect night. The food was exceptional, the ambiance was an entire vibe, and the service was awesome. Juan did an amazing job. He really took the time to make us feel special and catered to. We will definitely be back soon!

Was phenomenal. We arrived early and were able to take advantage of the happy hour. Amazing drinks and sushi. 

Understated and just superb. The early menu items are imaginative, delicious, and immensely reasonable. Angie is precious.
