Albatross Ridge Winery & Kitchen sits on Alvarado Street in the heart of downtown Monterey. We pour our estate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay alongside a curated selection of other wines and specialty beers, paired with wood-fired pizza, charcuterie, and cheese boards.The room was built with stonework and warm, careful detail, with heated outdoor seating for the evenings and live music on Friday and Saturday nights.The wines come from our own vineyard on a ridge 1,250 feet above the Carmel coast, seven miles from the Pacific, farmed by hand and entirely organically. They're made in a leaner, more Burgundian style than the California norm.The name comes from the ridge itself. In the 1930s, William Hawley Bowlus launched his Albatross sailplanes off these same slopes. Eight decades later his son and grandson planted a vineyard on them, and only afterward discovered the connection.

The Padrosa family — pioneers of the pintxos movement in Barcelona — opened their first restaurant in Barcelona in 1992 and brought their Spanish table to the South Bay.
