Before there was a hotel, there was a saloon. In 1852, thousands of thirsty prospectors filled their glasses at the original Golden Gate Saloon. After Grass Valley was destroyed by a fire in 1855, the owners quickly adapted and sold whiskey and beer to loyal customers from a tent among the rubble the next day. A seamless flow from the bar to the dining room and outdoor patio offers our guests the perfect mix of food and drink. Enjoy a contemporary menu with the fresh flavors of California and a dash of Mexico, utilizing the bounty of our local and organic farms. The Golden Gate menu is updated seasonally.

    Had an incredible experience here with friends last night! We had to make a few last minute schedule changes that should not have been the establishments problem at all but Adam was kind enough to accommodate. The staff were all great, gave us awesome recommendations and the atmosphere was so unique! Now one of my favorite places in Sac!

    This was an amazing experience. It was my sister's birthday and we all had a great time. The staff was friendly and very attentive with the bottomless mimosa. We are going back again for sure.
